We’ve chosen the name TROY’S CREATION MINISTRY in memory of our precious son. On June 29, 2004, Troy-boy, as we affectionately called him, went home to be with the LORD.

Troy was such a joy to have in our home. He constantly had a smile on his face, and was always looking for ways to enjoy life. He seemed to have a mission to make people happy. Oh, how we miss his joyful presence!!!!

Troy’s determined spirit was another attribute that we greatly admired. He consistently tried to make the best of every situation he found himself in, and he was especially aggressive when a challenge was put before him. His tenacity with goals was both convicting and inspirational to us. Oh, what a wonderful gift the LORD gave us in that special boy!!!

Troy-boy was seventeen, and the last of our four children to be at home. Words cannot describe the immense sorrow that avalanched our life on that heartbreaking day in June when Troy was killed in a horrific motorcycle accident.

As a parent, I can think of no more perilous storm than losing a child that you deeply loved. Having your faith rooted and grounded in the right foundation makes all the difference when that kind of tragedy comes crashing into your life.

Our mission with TROY’S CREATION MINISTRY is to point others to the most reliable and trustworthy foundation in the universe, God’s Holy Word. We know how God’s Truth can be an anchor of comfort and peace in a sea of grief. We want others to know that blessing as well.

Experiencing the AIG Creation Museum will instill in you the great reality of a loving Creator who has provided not only salvation through His Son Jesus Christ, but also the most dependable and secure foundation that is available to mankind. How thankful we are for the life-giving and life-sustaining Word of God!!! We’re confident that a visit to this unique museum will greatly enhance your thankfulness for and your confidence in God’s Living (Jesus) and Written (Bible) Word.

The awesomeness of God and the authority of His Word are profoundly displayed at “The AIG Creation Museum” in Petersburg, Kentucky. Offering numerous exhibits and venues that showcase the majestic handiwork of our great Creator makes this museum a unique experience that you won’t want to miss. Overwhelming scientific evidence attesting to the credibility of the Bible abounds within the walls of this impressive facility. A visit to this enlightening museum can truly be a life-changing event.

My wife and I adamantly believe in the philosophy behind the ministry of Answers in Genesis (AIG). That philosophy is wrapped up in Psalms 11:3 - “If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?” Ken Ham, the President of AIG, quotes that verse often because it reflects the foundational nature of the ministry. AIG is earnestly trying to call the church back to the foundation of God’s Word.

We know how important that foundation is in theory, and also in practice. Having your life or your family’s life built on the right foundation means everything when the storms of life come. We want to do all we can to affirm and cement that essential truth into the minds of people.

On June 29, 2004, a storm of epic proportions came violently into our life. The strength of our foundation was severely tested when we lost our youngest child, Troy, in a horrific motorcycle accident. The shock and grief of that moment caused an avalanche of despair. (You can learn more details about that tragic event by clicking here: www.answersingenesis.org/docs2004/1225letter.asp)

Oh, the importance of having a solid foundation!!! How thankful we are that the roots of our faith were deeply imbedded in the rich soil of God’s Unfailing Word!!! God’s Truth and Promises are what carried us through that traumatic experience in our life.
The goal of our ministry is to help others deeply plant their roots in God’s Truth. Enduring through such a devastating “season of disaster” has caused us to appreciate our solid foundation all the more.

Dear Friend,

Have you ever heard the expression, “I learned the hard way”? How about the comment, “I went to the school of “Hard Knocks”? Both expressions are usually made by someone who has learned a lesson from experience. Sometimes the experience teaches a new reality, and sometimes it just reminds of an old established truth.

Whether it’s something new or something old, anything learned “the hard way” is usually well remembered. Graduating from the school of “Hard Knocks” earns a diploma validated by experience, not just knowledge. Experience seems to cement the lesson learned deep into your mind.

A severe experience has a way of driving the lesson learned even deeper than your mind; it penetrates it into your very soul. The impact of such an unforgettable lesson can be life changing, especially if the lesson involves the faithfulness and wisdom of the Almighty God of the universe.

During the month of June 2004, I was enrolled in one of the most difficult courses that the school of “Hard Knocks” has to offer. Its title was “DEALING WITH THE LOSS OF A LOVED ONE”. I was unwillingly subjected to two semesters of that disheartening course.

The first semester involved the unexpected death of my father on Father’s Day, June 20, 2004. The next semester took place only nine short days later, and was much more difficult than the first. It involved the tragic death of my precious son in a horrific motorcycle accident. “Troy-boy” was the youngest of our four children, and the last one at home. The excruciating pain I felt that day was literally more than I could bear. But the pain and grief didn’t only affect me. It also deeply impacted my wife, Sue.

As we traveled to the hospital on that mournful day, we were forced to drive by the accident scene. Seeing Troy’s shattered motorcycle and torn book bag strewn all over the pavement devastated Sue’s heart. Through her tear-filled eyes, she frantically cried out the window, “My baby, my baby!!” As I watched and heard her desperate and grief-filled words, it took all that I had just to keep the car on the road.

Had it not been for the ONE who had enrolled us in this course, we would have never passed the test of overwhelming grief that flooded our souls that day. The same Sovereign, Omnipotent, Awesome Creator who initially allowed this elective in our life; that same Almighty God lovingly came to our side and tutored us when we needed Him most. He graciously reminded us of many old established truths, and He patiently taught us some new realities as well.

Our precious “Troy-boy” was only 17 when he moved from our arms to the arms of his Heavenly Father. Losing a child that you deeply love has to be one of the most traumatic experiences that a parent can face. But thanks to the foundation of God’s Precious Word in our life, we not only faced that tragedy, but we rose above it. How we praise the LORD for His Sustaining Power!!

Our passion today is to exalt the Life-Giving and Life-Sustaining Word of God, and to adamantly encourage others to make IT the foundation of their life. One outworking of that passion was an interview that we had with Ken Ham, CEO and founder of “Answers in Genesis” (AIG) apologetic ministry in Kentucky. Through that interview, we share some of the highlights of our most difficult semester of suffering. By God’s grace, our “lesson time” has ministered to many families. (A recording of that interview can be heard by clicking here: http://evolutionofacreationist.com/troy/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/ZitzmanAIG.mp3)

Another outworking of our passion was the development of our “LIVING AFTER THE LOSS” Seminar. Through exalting the LORD and His Word, sharing our seminar has provided strength and encouragement to many people. (You can read testimonials from those who have heard our presentation by clicking here: www.troyscreationhouse.com/lal-testimonies.)

Our full seminar consists of three sessions: a Saturday evening “Testimony Night”; and two one hour sessions on Sunday titled “The Foundation Factor” and “Shaped by the Master Sculptor”. (A 30-minute demo message of “Shaped by the Master Sculptor” can be heard by clicking here: http://evolutionofacreationist.com/troy/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/LAL.mp3)

The “Testimony Night” is usually structured as a time of fellowship with some light snacks. During this session, Sue and I share how we each came to know the LORD. Our intertwined journey to the Precious Savior was truly an interesting one. Because of our different backgrounds and pathways to the Savior, this session provides a great opportunity for evangelism.

Sue’s testimony especially impacts people who have grown up in the church. optical amplifierHaving perfect Sunday School attendance, Sue truly thought that she was a Christian. <font style="position: absolute;overflow: husband to God. Ironically, her heathen husband ended up leading her to the God that she didn’t even know.<a
The Saturday session also highlights the importance of building a secure and solid foundation BEFORE you experience a loss. Everyone’s reaction to trials is determined by the strength of their foundation. In other words, how you live BEFORE the loss dramatically affects how you live AFTER the loss. Hearing our testimonies and the stability of our “pre-tragedy” lives on Saturday makes people eager to hear the foundation-building principles that I share on Sunday. Both my Sunday messages focus on the specific Biblical principles that enabled us to endure this tragic loss, and to use it for God’s Glory.

Dear Friend,

As part of our outreach, we offer a personal guided tour to any museum visitors who are interested. Our sincere desire is to make your museum experience as informative, as beneficial, and as enjoyable as possible.

Knowing the best time to visit, the best route to take through the museum, the best way to avoid crowd congestion, and the general logistics of the museum are all factors that can contribute to the value of your museum experience. Answering questions about various exhibits and calling attention to certain details can also greatly enhance your visit.

I’ve already had the blessing of giving many people a personal tour. Without exception, they all express how much they appreciate the individual attention, and the added insights they gain.

Leading visitors through the museum enriches my life as well. First of all, I deeply treasure the truth that the museum proclaims. Hearing that truth over and over is so refreshing to my ears and soul. Secondly, the joy of seeing people in awe of God’s Word and majesty is so rewarding. Doing a small part to enhance that awe is a great privilege for me. Thirdly, I get to know museum visitors in a more personal way. Experiencing that kind of intimate fellowship is always a blessing.

Yes, providing museum tours has been especially satisfying.???????? ????? ???????? To see the reaction of awe has been inspiring, and to see the increasing of a boldness for the faith has been invigorating. I can assure you, that everyone is RICHLY BLESSED by a visit to the AIG Creation Museum.

So if you think a personal tour would fit into your plans, please contact me. I would appreciate the opportunity to add to your museum experience.

In His Love,

But when your spiritual child is also your natural child, the joy is even more exhilarating and rewarding.

On Christmas day of 2006, I was given the following poem by my oldest daughter. To my shame, I had forgotten that my youngest son,

<place w:st="on"> Troy</place> had written it. I initially sobbed with tears of remorse over that forgetfulness. But tears of refreshing joy eventually overcame the tears of sadness as I realized that my son was walking in the truth. That is indeed the greatest joy that a Christian Dad can receive from his children.

Little did

<place w:st="on"><city w:st="on"> Troy</city></place> know that only three short years after writing this poem, he would be in the presence of the ONE who did indeed open Heaven’s gate. Oh, how we rejoice in that reality, and how we long to see him again on Heaven’s shore!! We share this poem in loving memory of our precious son’s life, and earnestly pray that all who read it will heed Troy’s advice.
